Strength from others!
Updated: Feb 26, 2020
This blog is not what you're probably thinking, that I'm going to write about getting strength and encouragement from people, more than likely people that are in your sphere of influence - people who are closest to you. How about people that you read about on Social Media and how they've overcome many obstacles, survived and thrived. There are many fascinating stories about the unquenchable will to live, a strength that can only come from the Being that created you. BUT!!..yes, that's a big "but" because what I'm talking about today is getting too much of your strength from other people. Are you constantly looking at other people and their achievements and or setbacks for motivation? Are your personal goals crafted around a person or a group of people? If you answered yes to either of these questions then you have an unhealthy attachment to the strength of others - Prayer and Meditation can show you that your true strength only comes directly from God. Yes God does some of his best work through people, but his greatest work comes from God itself; so if you're living, looking, following and practically having your entire existence a gaze on another person or group of people, you're in Sin, so I encourage you to stop what you're doing and repent. Ask God for the right amount of acquiring strength, ideas, and motivation from others and when we should stop looking at others and only look to God!
"It is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve him only." - Luke 4:8
